Directions to the Shala:

The closest airport is in Alamosa, one hour south of Crestone. Denver International, Albuquerque, and Colorado Springs airports are a four to five hour drive.

From Denver and the North:
Hwy 285 South through Villa Grove, exit left on Hwy 17.
Hwy 17 South 14 miles to Moffat and turn left on Road “T.”
Road “T” East 13 miles to Information Center board.
Left at Information Center board to Shala and town (Right for Baca B&B’s and temple).

Once in town, go straight through the first stop sign. Follow the left curve in the road to the second stop sign, at the intersection of Galena and Alder. Go east on Galena exactly 2/10 mile and turn right (no street sign but there is a prominent “Dead End” sign). Pass two small cabins on the right, and go another 20 feet and park by the strawbales. The shala has a blue roof and solar panels.

Coming from the South:
Take Hwy 17 North to Moffat and turn right on Road “T.”
Road “T” East 13 miles to Information Center board.
Left at Information Center board to Shala and town (Right for Baca B&B’s and temple).
